Sara Big and Tall

My sweet little Sara is officially pulling herself up. She was learning before we left for Seattle and while we were there she was practicing on Pat's stairs. When we returned home she has been consistant. Whenever she is near furniture or near one of her brothers when they are sitting on the floor, she pulls herself up. She also held onto the coffee table and the couch and 'cruised' between the two. I'm not ready to have her cruising around everything. Sara has also been dancing when I sing to her or she hears songs on the radio or TV. She looks like one of the bobble head dolls. So stinkin' cute.

So, the last few days I have been so grouchy. I don't really have an excuse as to why I've been a total bitch. Just happens I guess. The weather has been gray and crappy, so the kids have had cabin fever (as have I), Todd is on graveyards, my good friend Nicolle is moving a little sooner than expected, so that might be it or a combination of a few of those things, who knows. My poor children and husband.

Spencer's 1st Baseball Game

So, the last post I was a total drama queen, feeling a little sorry for myself. This is a happy post. Spencer had his first baseball game. His coaches are Doug and Janey Rees. I've been friends with Janey since 5th grade and she and Doug got married 1 month after Todd and I did. We have kind of grown up together and experienced a lot of things at same time in our lives. Anyway, Doug and Janey are great coaches and are so good with the kids. Spencer thinks they are great. He got to play several positions and was improving every time he had an
opportunity to make a play. He was up to bat twice. Both times he struck out, but being his very first baseball game ever, he was learning quickly and improved his stance and positioning with every swing. Unfortunately, he was very hard on himself and got in the Suburban grumpy as hell. (I just don't understand where he gets this from.) But he will continue to get better with practice and time. And not be so hard on himself when he isn't perfect. (Practice what you preach I guess.)
Adam and Lily played and played at the park while we were there. It was a terribly cold night. I thought it was supposed to be spring. Well, I guess if you've ever been to Wyoming, you'd know that that is spring. Snow one day and 75 degrees the next. Anyway, most of the parents were cuddled under blankets, cheering the kids on. It was a great time. We know almost everyone there so you can catch up on town gossip or just visit.
This moose was behind our back yard and then migrated to the neighbors yard. I think it might be the same one that has lived here for a couple of summers. He just wonders around. My dogs think they are very brave a bark at him constantly. If he [moose] were ever to wonder INTO our back yard, the dogs might not be so brave.

Snow Day

Today was a snow day. Both the schools in the Valley were closed. Spencer is in 3rd grade and this is the first snow day we've had. It's been crazy windy, blowing snow with nearly white out conditions off and on for what seems like forever. Todd is in Green River for his annual safety classes. The roads, including the interstate, have been closed for a day now, but for some reason, the HP around here will let the 'mine' guys go through.

Arlene, Sala, and my little brother John were over today for lunch because the local highway between Mountain View and Lyman was closed for an accident. So I took some fun pictures of my company.

Arlene recently lost a crap load of weight and looks b-e-a-utiful. ( of course Sara on her lap only adds to her beauty.) Anyway, I now have a skinny picture of her for my blog. Whoo-Hoo.

John is checkin' out my new laptop. He and my niece Savanna and nephew Quintin were hanging out while everything calmed down. John cusses like a sailor. And he loves to get my kids to cuss.
( They really don't need any help.) He enjoys watching me squirm and scream when they do. The kids love him though and have a great time when his family is here. All the kids play really well together.

So the snow day that sucked turned into a really fun day.

By the way, my new bed rocks!!!

Sucky Weather II

My House Summer vs. Winter

Sucky Weather

The wind and snow are so stinkin' cold here. I know I've said this before but I'm serious now. I was driving back from Lyman and could barely see a cars length in front of me. It was horrible. When I picked the boys up from school, the teachers wouldn't let the kids out until a parent came and got them or the buses got there. I went up to the door and got Adam, buried his face in my coat and we went to the van. We were popsicles when we finally made it across the play ground. So I put Adam in the van and headed back for Spencer when his bus from Ft. Bridger arrived. He got off the bus with only half of his coat on. I was MAD. I chewed him out all the way to the van. Anyway, we got home safe and sound and hope to stay put the rest of the day.
Todd had to take his Dad to Evanston for dialysis. The roads have been closed off and on all day. I hope he makes it back safe and sound. As I have mentioned before bad roads make me crazy. I turn into a total b#%*^@.
I'll post better pictures if I make it outside again.

-30

Adam Being Silly

Holy Crap it's cold here. The kind of cold and wind that takes your breath away. The weather report says it's 10 degrees today but it will feel more like -30. I know I choose where I live, and for the most part I love it, but today it sucks. When my boys were coming out of school today their little cheeks and noses were red. They were so cold. Adam usually peels his coat off and immediately asks for a snack and what I did that day, but today he just sat down and told me he was freezing. Spencer is usually doing something silly like pretending to fall down, but not today. They were popcicles.
Anyway, on a lighter note, Spencer did his first oral report in school today. His did such a good job. He is one of the quietest kids in his class, which is funny because he is a goof ball at home.
Todd and I are going to get a new bed tomorrow. My Nana got ours at a yard sale right after we got married. That was almost 15 years ago. The frame is starting to look like a V. Yeah for a new bed.

Snow

I cannot believe how much stinkin' snow we have, and how much more we are supposed to get. I loved snow as a child. I still love snow, but this is ridiculous. I'm ready for a break. I guess Wyoming and Utah have been in a drought for a while. The lakes, rivers, and other water sources have been down to scary levels, so I guess I shouldn't complain. I think what bothers me most about it is the interstate gets soooo slick. Todd works 45 min. away from home ( this makes me a raging psycho with worry sometimes) , as does my brother John, and the worst part in that my 72 year old father-in-law has to drive 3 times a week to Evanston ( 30 min. away) for dialysis. He isn't in very good health and has a hard time seeing when the roads are bad and/or it's snowing. It worries all in his family. Hopefully the 'January thaw' will come around soon. I want to bust out my flip-flops.
