Grandpa Bates

Grandpa Bates ( Todd's Dad ) is sick and in the hospital. He has been suffering with what everyone thought was a pinched nerve. It's been going on for a while. He's tried chiropractic care, acupuncture, and pain killers along with heat and ice. After Ruth's funeral, he seemed to get worse. His Dr. ordered an MRI and when the results came back he was told he needed to go to the hospital. Turns out, it's some kind of infection. He didn't want to go right away. He thought he could wait until Friday when Todd was off again. Good hell. Anyway, the Dr. called him back and thought he needed to go to the hospital ASAP. So arrangements were made and his Granddaughter Janice ( Ruth's daughter ) took him in with a little help from her sweetie and a family friend. Janice has been through the ringer. This girl carries the weight of the world on her shoulders and manages a lot, all at once. Anyway, Janice and Jamie got him down to Salt Lake, where he was admitted some time in the middle of the night. Today the Dr.'s ordered a ton of testing and even a biopsy of his neck. Poor Grandpa Bates has been though the ringer. His health has been failing slowly over the last several years and the last year has been really rough on him. Dialysis takes so much out of him. And he is still trying to run his Sawmill. Hopefully, he will get feeling better. We sure love this man.
